  Part of the Ember chain - who seem to have the knack of making pubs seem really, really BLAND and inoffensive - this is a smallish pub just at the back of the High Street which is perhaps most notable for being home to a massive beer garden. Unfortunately inside it's a rather dull affair - it used to be rather a quaint pub with a sort of rural/rakish feel - you couldn't move for prints of fox hunting scenes, green leather armchairs and chaps with big red faces who crowded around the bar, but it now has whitewashed walls and decor straight out of Next interiors. It's okay but you may want to head elsewhere if you crave atmosphere.
